Fully Human Psychotherapy is a space for people who want to show up as they are - messy, imperfect, resilient, and real.
I started this practice because I believe therapy should be about embracing your full humanity and learning to move through life with greater awareness, compassion, & authenticity.
I honor your lived experience, your story, and the unique ways your mind and body have adapted to survive and make meaning. Together, we can slow things down, get curious, & create room for healing that feels real and sustainable - not rushed or prescriptive.
You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin. Showing up as you are is enough. Here, you get to be fully human always.
About Fully Human Psychotherapy
I graduated from the University of Delaware with a BA in Psychology and a BS in Cognitive Science.
I furthered my education at NYU Silver School of Social Work for my masters.
My professional experience before starting private practice ranges from working in suicide & crisis prevention, schools, intensive day programs for adults with SPMI, and community mental health organizations. These have all helped shaped me as a clinician & human and I have much gratitude for my journey to Fully Human Psychotherapy.
I specialize in working with adults and older adults with difficulties managing stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, spirituality, existentialism, grief, and aging.
I have training in evidence based modalities including EMDR, CBT, DBT, CPT, crises interventions, and trauma informed care. I have also completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training.
I value ongoing professional development and stay current with emerging research and evidence-based practices in mental health / therapeutic modalities.
Outside of being a therapist, I enjoy working out (running, yoga, hiking), trying new restaurants, reading, and live music. Utilizing these activities enhance how I show up in my work by keeping myself balanced, fulfilled, and recharged!
Sydne’s Education & Experience
My clients describe me as warm, genuine, curious, and patient.
Humans are complex and unique - my process as a clinician mirrors that. I believe that lasting work starts with a non-judgmental foundation and strong therapeutic relationship.
Depending on what your treatment calls for, I use a holistic, trauma informed, person centered approach with aspects of IFS, CBT, DBT, lots of support/empathy/holding space, gentle confrontation/observations, and humor.
I am certified in practicing EMDR through EMDRIA.
We can incorporate things that feel right and helpful to you as well as work dynamically to push through discomfort and try new things.
I have a 7 year old rescue lab mix who you may see pop up in the background at times - he has been made aware of the rules & regulations to ensure HIPAA compliance 🐾
